Our AI-powered background remover intelligently identifies the main subject in your image and makes the background transparent. This processing happens entirely within your web browser, meaning your images are not uploaded to our servers for this task.
How it works: When you first use this feature, your browser will download the AI model files (this can take a moment and is a one-time process for most users). Once loaded, simply upload your image(s), and the AI will process them locally to remove the background. The output is a PNG file with a transparent background.
Please ensure you have a stable internet connection for the initial model download. These models are cached by your browser for faster subsequent uses. Make sure to place the model files (e.g., relevant .onnx and .wasm files) in your public/models/imgly/ directory.
Tips for best results:
- Use images with a clear distinction between the subject and the background.
- High-resolution images generally yield better results, but may take longer to process on your device.
- Complex backgrounds or subjects with very fine details (like wispy hair) can be challenging.
This feature uses the IMG.LY Background Removal JS library. We're continuously exploring ways to improve performance and quality!
